If you’re looking for a remote opportunity that doesn’t require you to be on the phone and lets you help create a safe and positive environment for students online, this may be the perfect fit.
Miaplaza is currently hiring Content Moderators to join their Community Engagement team. This is a 100% remote position open to applicants anywhere in the United States.
What is Miaplaza?
Miaplaza provides online educational content and resources for homeschooling families. Their platform allows students to interact, post content, and build social skills — all within a safe, moderated online environment.
As a Content Moderator, your job is to help maintain that safe and supportive space by reviewing content created by students, such as posts, status updates, videos, articles, and more.
What Does the Job Involve?
This is not a phone-based position. All communication is handled through written messages.
As a Content Moderator, you’ll:
- Review high volumes of student content (up to 500 posts/hour during typical seasons)
- Decide whether student content should go live or be sent back for revision
- Interpret tone, hidden messages, or intent in posts (sometimes subtle)
- Respond to student inquiries with friendly, age-appropriate guidance
- Help students understand moderation decisions in a clear and encouraging way
- Collaborate with the team to refine community guidelines and improve safety
- Document moderation actions accurately
This is a fast-paced role that requires good judgment, strong reading and writing skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
Who They’re Looking For
You do not need to have prior content moderation experience, but you do need to meet a few basic qualifications:
- At least one year of work experience (any industry)
- A reliable high-speed internet connection
- Access to a computer or laptop (camera preferred)
- Strong writing, reading, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new tools quickly
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Daytime weekday availability for full-time work, training, and meetings
- Weekend availability for at least one 4-hour shift
Bonus points if you’ve worked in moderation or youth-based environments, but it’s not required.
Schedule & Pay
Moderation hours are available seven days a week, between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm ET. Candidates from any U.S. time zone are welcome.
Moderators work:
- Four 8-hour weekday shifts

You must be available during at least one of these shift blocks:

Training begins Wednesday, July 16, 2025 and ends Monday, August 4, 2025. Applications close Friday, June 27, 2025. Apply as soon as possible to allow enough time for processing.
Starting pay ranges from $17.10 to $24.10 per hour, depending on location and experience.

- Health, dental, and vision insurance (including mental health, fertility, and chiropractic care)
