If you’ve ever scrolled past one of those “work from home” job listings and thought, this sounds too easy to be true, you’re not alone. But sometimes, a simple gig really is the real deal—and that’s exactly the case with Yardi Matrix’s Rent Survey position.
This opportunity pops up a few times a year, and it’s back again for Spring 2025, starting Tuesday, April 29th.
So… What Exactly Is Yardi Matrix?
Yardi Matrix is part of Yardi Systems, a well-known software company that serves the commercial real estate industry. Their focus? Gathering accurate, up-to-date information on apartment communities across the country.
The Rent Survey project plays a big part in this. It’s how Yardi collects the latest info on rent prices, specials, and apartment features by reaching out directly to apartment communities.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Rent Surveyor, you’ll call apartment communities pretending to be a potential renter. That means you’ll ask straightforward questions like:
- What’s the current rent?
- Are there any specials or discounts?
- What unit types are available?
After each call, you’ll enter the information into Yardi’s system. You are not selling anything, and you’re not representing yourself as an employee of Yardi—just an everyday person looking to rent.
To do this job, you’ll need:
- High-speed internet
- A phone with long-distance calling
- A computer you can work from
- A clear speaking voice and polite phone manners
This role is entirely remote and calls must be made between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM (in the time zone of the property you’re calling).
How Many Calls Do You Have to Make?
Yardi requires:
- 75 completed surveys in your first week
- 100 completed surveys each week after
Only surveys marked “Done” count toward your weekly total. If a call goes to voicemail, is unanswered, or marked as a wrong number, it doesn’t count toward your quota (though some of those still earn a small payment—more on that below).
How Much Does It Pay?
This is a temporary W2 employee role. You’ll be paid:
- $6.00/hour base pay
- Plus a piece rate based on how each call is marked:
- $0.50 for a fully completed survey (“Done”)
- $0.30 for wrong numbers
- $0.20 for partial responses
- $0.07 for voicemail or no answer
You’re guaranteed to earn at least minimum wage in your state, but many people earn more depending on their speed and accuracy.
Is It Flexible?
You choose your hours (within the 9am–6pm window), and work as much or as little as needed to hit your survey count. There’s no micromanagement—but you do need to be self-motivated and consistent to succeed.
What’s the Catch?
There’s really not one—as long as you’re comfortable on the phone, can follow a script, and meet your weekly survey goal, this is a legitimate, entry-level opportunity to earn extra income from home.
You won’t be on salary. It’s not long-term. But it’s perfect for side income, resume-building, or those in-between moments while job hunting or transitioning.
If you enjoy independent, remote work and don’t mind phone calls, the Yardi Matrix Rent Survey project is a straightforward way to earn some extra money from home. No selling. No cold calls. No special equipment—just you, a phone, a computer, and a little hustle.
Just be quick—these roles fill fast every time they open.
